The Department of State Services (DSS) has reportedly done the screening of President Muhammadu Buhari’s ministers. Daily Post reports that the ministerial appointments may likely to be announced this week. Buhari has been facing public disapprovals, particularly from the opposition over his denial to name his appointees three months after taking the office. The president has been asking Nigerians to stand with him till the end of September to enable him to pick credible people who will work with him. A top presidency source hinted that the postponement in the announcement of the ministers might not be separate with the fact that some people were found wanting during the exercise. He said: “President Buhari is a just man who wants to get his things right. He was careful enough not to appoint anyone who might disgrace or dent his hard-earned name and reputation. A pensioner admitted killing his 95-year-old mother with a wrench “to end her misery” after she said she wanted to die. David Powell, 74, told police he found the burden of caring for his elderly mother too much and did not feel able to carry on. He had planned to take his own life after the deadly attack but he was unable to go through with it. Powell has been given a hospital order at Stafford Crown Court after admitting the manslaughter of Cecilia Powell at her home in Penkhull, Stoke, on grounds of diminished responsibility. The court heard Powell called the police on the evening of 9 April to report his mother’s death and told police that he had killed her an hour earlier. But when questioned by officers, Powell, of Longton Road, Barlaston, admitted he had actually killed her three days earlier. Snoop Dogg has made no secret of his passion for cannabis – and now he’s expected to court further controversy by launching a website dedicated to the drug. The rapper revealed he’s behind a new lifestyle platform called Merry Jane at a TechCrunch Disrupt event in San Francisco. Speaking on stage, Snoop said the site will provide users with “all they need to know” about marijuana and feature videos and interviews with other high-profile users. The site, which Snoop has worked on with media entrepreneur Ted Chung, is said to have the support of outspoken weed users Seth Rogen and Miley Cyrus. Merry Jane will also have its own series where each episode focuses on an aspect of pot. Chelsea striker Diego Costa will serve a three-match suspension after being found guilty of an FA charge of violent conduct. The charge relates to an incident in Saturday’s  2-0  win over Arsenal at Stamford Bridge, which was not seen by match referee Mike Dean but was the subject of a retrospective investigation. In a statement released by the club Chelsea said they were “extremely disappointed” with the decision and “would await the written reasons before commenting further.” An FA statement read: “An FA charge against Diego Costa for violent conduct not seen by the match officials but caught on video has been found proven following an Independent Regulatory Commission hearing. “The Chelsea forward will, therefore, serve the standard penalty of a three-match suspension with immediate effect. “The charge, which the player denied, was in relation to an incident involving Arsenal’s Laurent Koscielny in the 43rd minute of the game on Saturday [19...
